Passion Flower, Granadilla, Maracuya (Passiflora quadrangularis/ spp).
Part Used: Leaves and Stems
Sedative and anxiolytic. Used for insomnia where you cannot shut the mind off. Good for epilepsy, facial tics and tension headaches.
Note: Can be used in tea, tincture or pills. Note the spiraling tendrils how they mimic the mind going around in circles or the tension that can build up in the neck and shoulders when under stress. Used in plant spirit medicine to cling to love or to uncoil the hold of love gone wrong. Has associations with the hummingbird, to let go of one’s past and stop clinging to built-up emotions or old scenarios. Very sexy flower, it reminds one of the forbidden.
