Vetiver (Vetiveria zizanoidea)

Uses: Water and alcohol extracts of vetiver grass is an antiseptic wash topically for wounds. The washed roots can be pounded and made into a gauze like bandage. Vetiver is gentle sedative and relaxant. As a tea, it is useful as a diaphoretic and carminative.
Notes: The essential oil is commonly used for muscle pain, acne, for helping reduce stretch marks and as an aphrodisiac.
